Child Disability Payment

Money to help with the extra costs of a disabled child in Scotland. It has taken the place of DLA for children there.

Child Disability Payment is paid by Social Security Scotland, not the Department for Work and Pensions, so guidance written for English families about DLA DLA A benefit that helps with the extra costs of looking after a disabled child under 16. In Scotland it is called Child Disability Payment instead. Read the full definition of DLA will point you to the wrong body. You can apply for a child under 16, with or without a diagnosis, and an award can continue until they turn 18. Like DLA it has a care part and a mobility part, and the award can open the door to other support, such as Carer Support Payment. Apply through mygov.scot.
