How we use AI
Facts about how a child grows and learns are some of the most private data there is. We keep that in mind next to another fact. Families wait years for answers and help. Used with care, AI can change what's possible for them.
We build and check each AI feature at Assembly against these rules.
Humans in the loop
Clinicians design our method and review what we publish. AI helps us explain things and fit them to your child. It doesn't make choices about your child on its own, and it doesn't diagnose.
Privacy by design
We start each feature by asking "what's the least data this needs?", not "what could we collect?". Private details stay out of places they don't need to be. That includes our own usage data and logs.
Your data stays yours
Your family's data belongs to you. We don't sell it. You can ask us what we hold and have it deleted. Assembly runs in the UK. Hosting, the database and storage are all in Microsoft Azure's UK South region. Your data is stored in the UK. To write a reply, Microsoft may handle the request in another Azure region.
Never used to train AI models
We don't share your family's data with anyone to train their AI models. And we don't use your child's data to train our own.
Grounded and inspectable
When our AI gives advice, it's based on clinical guidance and your child's profile. It is not based on what the internet says. The report shows how it got there, in plain words.
Benefit that earns the risk
We test each use of AI against one question. Does it really help a child sooner? If a feature doesn't pass that test, it doesn't go live.
