The tribunal SEND Tribunal If the council says no, you can appeal to the SEND Tribunal. It is separate from the council, and it can order them to assess your child or to change an EHC plan. It also deals with claims of disability discrimination at school. It is independent and has no connection with the Education Authority. The time limit for appealing is short and runs from the date on the decision letter, so check the letter as soon as it arrives and get advice quickly, for example from SENAC.
