Transitions

A change from one thing to another. Schools use this one word for small changes, like moving between lessons, and big ones, like moving to secondary school.

In everyday school language, transitions are the small changes in a day: stopping one activity, starting another, moving rooms, lining up. Many neurodivergent Neurodivergent Neurodivergent means a brain that works in its own way, not the way most people expect. Autistic people, and people with ADHD or dyslexia, are all neurodivergent. The big-move planning has different names and ages in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. When a professional says transition, it is always fair to ask which kind they mean.
