Delete your data

Leaving should be as easy as joining. A child's record is yours to delete in the app, in about three taps, and one email removes the rest. No forms, no phone calls, no guilt trips.

Delete a child's data yourself

You don't have to ask us, and you don't have to explain. Everything we hold about one child, their profile, answers, chats and reports, can be downloaded or deleted from inside the app.

  1. Sign in and open your home page

Every child you've added is listed there, each with a link to download or delete that child's data.

  2. Take a copy first, if you want one

The same screen downloads everything we hold about that child, in a readable format, straight away. Nothing to request, nobody to wait for.

  3. Type the child's name to delete

Deletion is immediate and permanent, so we ask you to type the child's first name to confirm. There's no waiting period and no undo, which is exactly why the typed name is the safeguard.

Everything else, by email

Closing your whole account, removing your own data rather than a child's, or anything the screen above doesn't cover, still comes to a person. Same result, one step slower.

  1. Email us

Send your request from the email address on your account. The link below pre-fills the subject line, you don't need to write anything formal, or give a reason.

  2. We confirm it's you

We reply to confirm the request came from your account's address. That's the whole identity check, no ID uploads, no phone calls.

  3. We do it, then confirm

Your account, your children's profiles, chats, reports, progress and usage analytics are deleted. We confirm by email when it's done, within one calendar month, usually much faster.

What gets deleted

Deleting one child in the app removes that child's profile, every answer you gave about them, their chats and messages, and their generated reports. Your account stays, along with any other children on it.

A deletion request by email covers everything tied to your account instead: your sign-in identity, every child's profile, all chats and messages, generated reports and PDFs, programme progress, and your usage analytics. You don't need to ask for any of it separately.

The honest small print

  • Deletion is permanent, and nothing is ever deleted without a confirmation step: in the app you type the child's name, and by email we reply before we act.
  • In the app there's no waiting period to change your mind. Once you confirm, the record is gone, which is why we ask you to type the name rather than tap twice.
  • Backups cycle out on a schedule, so deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for a short period before it's gone everywhere.
  • If we ever have a legal obligation to keep a specific record (for example, a safeguarding referral), we'll keep only that record, and tell you so in our reply.
  • Deleting a child stops a school seeing that child's record, but it can't pull back a report somebody already downloaded. Nothing can.

Questions before you decide? Email ayse@getassembly.co.uk , asking about deletion won't trigger anything.
